Apache guide. User manual
by Nicoletta Vallorani

I was a teacher all my adult life, even if I wanted to be the Apache guide. I made the teacher all my adult life and now I would say that migrate to Mexico do not talk. However, being a teacher I liked, I like and I like it, I hope, until retirement, meaning that the time when you no longer have to work every morning, and I can school me on my own.
The school is a paradigm of existence, into which are measured - in centimeters applicable to diverse organs of the body - the failures and the aporia of a system. It is also empirically (or at least it was in my experience), a reliable sample of the diverse humanity that inhabits the world, a fitness ethic that requires teachers and students to maintain bureaucratic adventurous stunts, at least to some extent, the educational function that the state, our state requires but does not hold. Finally, the school is, as an Indian reservation, a place with porous borders, where the world comes and goes (and hopefully will continue to be so, as in the beautiful, Gelmini new world leave only the brains, as they enter the hamsters ) and where it should acquire the tools to understand what we are and what we want to become. The first operation can be extremely depressing these days, and the other completely useless, so much to become what we want we can not do, unless we begin to give a way to balance the price of certain body parts that are not the brain.
I made the teacher all my adult life, those reserves which are apache schools and universities. A teacher, especially when it becomes a university lecturer, tends to some intriguing metamorphosis. Most of the time is transformed into an alien entity which we call "the intellectual humanist" and is defined as follows:

Intellectual humanist : individual even babies, shows an age between 60 and 78 years, and clothing in a consistent manner. Difficulty in understanding that exists, ever existed and ever will exist irony, and feels excluded, however, that, if any, he may apply it to himself. So consequential, the humanist humor usually has a hook in the living room of the Adams family.

It is not a good life, eh? The process can be stopped, of course, especially when the tare gene that influences a person to be transfigured into "intellectual humanist" is diagnosed early and treated with massive doses of statistics, algebraic sums, logarithms and instead sign up for mechanical engineering (any other specialization would lead inevitably to the development of theoretical skills, in themselves dangerous). In cases where hereditary defects is less clear, it can be therapeutic to induce the humanist intellectual to practice some customs for him, as a rule, inconceivable, namely::

  1. attend popular environments with an ancient history, but this is not written in the manuals recommended by the Ministry of Education (whoever he is: I would say that in a competition to see who gets along better in this role, there are no winners, only losers, more or less embarrassing);
  2. enter into a relationship with individuals who can not speak Italian but are capable of running storytelling magnificent, assume that there is a world of manual work, craft, necessary where there is a cultural impulse, and it is not rare;

  3. and so on.

In these contexts, the intellectual humanist - if it survives the harsh, Darwinian law of existence - and clearly does not choose to get out of his mind, so I do not understand and celery plus a chip only - it can even do school. Or, better yet, go to school in real life by people who know something more.
A humanist intellectual who has done all his life a teacher, however, has no hope. We must bring it down before it becomes dangerous to himself and the universe to the world. We will see in other circumstances such as. So, my checkbox text is an arena where survival in the shoes trotter, indeed, a guide to apache. The box I made up myself, I have not yet undergone a metamorphosis in intellectual humanist. They are rather the larval stage of this metamorphosis, which is the idealist, namely:

Idealist: human being who goes there to climb up windows soaped, dismissed as an understanding of the surface on which is a glass slide and even soapy. The idealist is a mammal, and as such can not be the world's disaffected. Therefore, the idealists climb up this glass do different things, and because of what they do, fall into two categories. Idealists conscious attempt to walk upright, and when they fall they do it with great dignity, knowing that even if we are not made to fly, we can at least try, for a moment, and feel that we are alive. Idealists unaware, that soon degenerates into careerists, stick to a surface that will not hold, or even know they are on that glass. They only know they want to reach the top, beating opponents and those who expect to be thinking that the end will be saved.

Climbing on the glass and with no hope of transforming ourselves in a winning rampant idealist unconscious, I do what recently we are trying to do everything: school, yes, but of survival, or as a cross thirty years of barbarism and come out sooner or later , walking erect.
