Jaromír Nohavica the poet

The Tenco Prize this year has decided to grant recognition to their Jaromír Nohavica. The Tenco Prize is the most important collection of original songs in the world and rewarding Nohavica, confirms that - despite the serious economic situation which has precipitated the dull Italian administrative management of the machine - knows how to keep your back straight. Just a few months ago seemed to lack the minimum conditions to make the show this year, but with a flick of the tail and tightening their belts, and relaunched the Tenco resists ... Rewarding Nohavica is an act of justice, because it is one of the greatest songwriters in Europe, perhaps the greatest living. But reward is also an act of courage, because Nohavica, beloved in the small Czech Republic, is a virtually unknown outside of it. Nohavica was born in Ostrava, north of his country near the Polish border, June 7, 1953. It's not a spoiled child and therefore must earn a living doing before the worker, then the librarian, then, gradually, the translator, playwright, lyricist for pop and rock ... the way the song 's author is quite rough at the time of censorship, and so Jarek - is the diminutive by which the Czech Republic are all called Jaromír - knows the last glorious days of samizdat: the spread of illegal works to the index, recorded, photocopied, reproduced in just copy to copy. Jarek has never been a maverick in the true sense of the word, that in which the singer was his "master" Karel Kryl, but the simple fact of thinking aloud, and, worse still, to sing what you thought was not too well as in Czechoslovakia before the velvet Revolution of 1989.
